CFS better known as chronic fatigue syndrome is a mysterious disorder characterized by exhaustion and physical fatigue that is not easy to overcome through resting. It is known that CFS occurs in people between 40-50 and is rarely found among children and teenagers as well. Dealing chronic fatigue syndrome should begin immediately after the diagnosis.
There is no generally accepted cure for treating chronic fatigue syndrome, although certain types of techniques and medication may help patients to improve. In addition to these, proficiencies such as yoga, meditation, acupuncture is also being used for treating chronic fatigue syndrome.
Antidepressants are also used by patients to relieve symptoms of CFS. The most commonly used pain killers and anti inflammatory medications are known as ibuprofen and acetaminophen while antiviral drugs are also deemed as effective in the matter.
Counseling and therapy should go hand in hand with the treatments necessary for CFS. Therefore, seeking help of a support group and attending group sessions would do so much of good. Especially in the case of teenagers and children, using a support group for emotional support is essential.
The CDC reports claim that nearly 50% of the patients may gain partial or complete recovery within the first 5 years after the appearance of symptoms. As there is no accepted cure for treating and beating fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome, it is best to improve the quality of life of the patients through the above methods.
